Painting on the dock of a bay

This was a comission for a local church's vacation bible school's set. I painted this with Cory Philabaum in about a week. There was also a raised pier that was painted. These, unforetunately, are the only pictures I have that were taken after the set was dissassembled and moved to the church basement.

I've been working (and still am working) on this new "flaming altar" for atitd. There is obviously a lack of fire for these test shots, but have no fear, it will have fire when actually put in game.

Still debating on some of the textures....

this emote had to get fixed. the old backflip was "floaty" and had no weight. this was my number one priority.

tweaked the run some more so the head isn't so "bobby"

tweaked the walk some more so its flows better

completely changed the gesture emote. it was a handshake... i think. slwilson and i decided the a wave would be more fun, i guess.

i think you can find this animation in one of my very old reels but here it is by itself. I remember being so proud of this project when i finished it. i spent like 2 weeks working on the fur on the spider since i had never used hair before and after that i was a little bit obsessed with the hair and fur modifier.

From back in the day... about 2 years old. There is some snapping and popping but over-all... I really liked this. I think i still have this file so I may revisit it here soon and add it to my demo reel.

A Tale in the Kitchen

I modeled/unwrapped/textured 80% of this. SLWilson modeled and unwrapped the table, the shelving unit, and one of the jars on the shelving unit. The wood, brick, marble, sandstone, and metal textures were used from the game's texture library (with some minor alterations to some of them). The rest of the textures (sitting mats, jugs, jars, plates, etc) were "painted" in photoshop.

A few weeks ago my youngest brother Charlie (he is exactly 9 years younger than me... he stole my birthday) was on Good Morning America with Frank Beddor.

Charlie had done a claymation for an 8th grade english project about the book series "The Looking Glass Wars" by Frank Beddor. Mr. Beddor found the video on youtube and commissioned him to do a second animation for his newest book (which i think may be a graphic novel).

Halloween Costume Idea

Halloween is getting close so I'm working on some ideas. I always try to spend the least amount of money possible and make as much of the costume as i can by hand. So this year I'm going to be a "wild thing" like from the book/movie. So I'm going to make my horns out of home made play dough, knit my leggings, and use some clothes I already have to finish it off. So all in all I really just need to buy yarn and maybe a shirt.

Some past costumes I've done:

-White Trash Barbie (wore a nightie with pink curlers in my hair and made a tag in photoshop. came up with this on the spot, took 5 minutes)

-Little Red Riding Hood (bought a $5 red cape from the store and wore a cute dress i already had with it)

-The Weighted Companion Cube from the game Portal (made out of cardboard, a silver tarp, and lots of spray paint. Took several hours to construct)

- A Fairy (lots of tulle. this took maybe a half hour)

-A cardboard Samaria (lots of cardboard and a hot glue gun and spray paint. this took several hours to construct)

Just sent these off to my client for review.
Based off the other logos that I did earlier (you can see them here), they liked the "ribbon" ones and the "puzzle pieces" ones. They wanted me to try a few different color combos and fonts. So hopefully one of these will be more of what they were looking for!

I really liked this. it was done for an app contest "design your own movie poster". And this was one of my entries . i think i should revisit it and do a short in flash.

This was also done for one of my entries for the movie poster contest and it WON! this won "Cutest Design"! I won a $100 gift certificate to apple.

I'm trying to rip my demo reel off of my DVD because my computer can't handle its awesome power and render out a quicktime... but i found this today and this was one of the things I helped to create while going to school. I did character animation, logo design, helped create the production pipeline and wrote/did a voice over that wasn't used in the end.

So i just realized i could upload videos to here instead of youtube first then embed it ... that's pretty cool!

So I re-did my run and i love this one so much better!

over the past week i fixed my intro/outro to my demo reel. I changed the colors to white and green using the magic of after effects! its looking pretty cool!
Also i editted my flatwork portfolio. Cut a bunch of crap and made it fit together better.

And I got my business cards today! i really love how they turned out!
